Kevin caddying as an Evans Scholars
alumnus at this year’s
BMW championship

Kevin has 29 years of business experience, focusing on marketing public relations. He has helped clients grow their business and its awareness, reputation and credibility through media relations, events,  sponsorships and integrated communications.

“Most of what I know and do in business I learned as a caddie,” says Kevin. “My first job taught me how to advise someone in the heat of competition and how to excel at client service. If you couldn’t do both, you didn’t survive, much less thrive, as a caddie.”

He has been recognized with multiple industry and client awards for strategic and creative thinking and client service.

Kevin has extensive experience in golf and sports’ companies, brands and products including: SeeMore Putter Company, Fujikura Composite Shafts, Western Golf Association, Grow Golf!, New Era, AirZone Sports, Wilson Sporting Goods, Gatorade, Quaker Oats, Sears, Lands’ End, Prince, Miller Brewing Company, EAS Nutrition, Coppertone Sport and Brunswick.

Kevin founded and grew Donnellon Public Relations into a respected, independent mid-sized agency. He began his career at Procter & Gamble, and was Vice President of Advertising and PR at Wilson Sporting Goods. Kevin held account management positions with Burson-Marsteller and Ketchum Communications in New York and Golin/Harris Communications in Chicago.

He is a member of the National Golf Foundation, Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, National Sports Marketing Network, Golf Writers Association of America, The International Network of Golf, American Marketing Association and Public Relations Society of America.

He is past president of the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship Alumni Association, past member of the Executive Committee of the Western Golf Association, and board member of the St. Vincent DePaul Center. He serves on the WGA marketing committee, managing PR for the BMW Championship and the Evans Scholars Foundation

Kevin is a 1978 graduate of The Ohio State University, where he was a Chick Evans Scholar, Journalism/Political Science major and active in many student organizations. Kevin lives in Chicago with his two daughters.

He is an avid golfer, struggling pianist and voracious reader of biographies, classics and history books.

“Golf is almost a spiritual connection for me,” says Kevin. “When I’m on a golf course, it is a feeling much like skiers when they ski powder or fly fisherman when they meander through a stream. Golf is a labor of love that started as a caddie and a greenskeeper and continues as a businessman.”
